The birth of Jesus is one of the most joyful moments in all of Scripture. Angels announce good news, shepherds rejoice, and hope enters the world. But hidden inside this beautiful moment is a sobering truth that many people miss.

🌱 In today’s reading from Luke 2, Simeon speaks prophetic words about Jesus that reveal both the glory and the cost of His mission. He explains that Jesus will cause many to rise, but also that He will be opposed. Simeon even tells Mary that a sword will pierce her own soul, foreshadowing the suffering that would one day come.

🌱 Psalm 59 reminds us that even when we face enemies, fear, or uncertainty, God is our refuge and strength. The psalmist cries out for deliverance and finds confidence in God’s protection.

🌱 Proverbs 11:14 teaches the wisdom of seeking counsel and guidance. Life is not meant to be navigated alone, and wise advice helps keep us on the right path.

Together these passages remind us that the life Jesus offers is both deeply joyful and deeply transformative. His coming reveals the condition of every heart and invites us to walk in truth, faith, and wisdom.
